Feeding method: Gravimetric vs. volumetric

Choosing the right dosing process is crucial for the efficiency and precision of your production processes.

Gravimetric feeding measures the mass of the material to be dispensed precisely by means of load cells (regardless of material density or flow properties) and is particularly accurate.

Volumetric feeding, on the other hand, is based on volume and uses discharge devices such as screws to convey a certain amount of material. The method is not as precise, but is easier and cheaper to use.

The choice between the two methods therefore depends on the specific requirements of the respective area of application. Take a look here and find out about the advantages and disadvantages of both methods.
